Our students’ success is the measure of our success, and at Pioneer Technology Center, we want you to be successful! Enrolling in courses which are appropriate to your interest and aptitudes is a very important step on the road to your success.
Assessment
At Pioneer Technology Center, we use assessment instruments to provide you with guidance in placement and program selection. We want you to be in a program in which you will be both happy and successful.
The assessment instruments that are used include :
• Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE)
• PLAN test from ACT (Many of the sending schools administer this test which includes an interest inventory that relates the results to the World of Work Map. These results are also used in the counseling process).
• Basic Achievement Skills Inventory (BASI)
• System for Assessment and Group Evaluation (SAGE) for aptitude.
• Oklahoma Career Information System (OKCIS) for interest assessment.
Each student will have a PTC counselor who will review the assessment results with them. The counselor will guide the student into a program that best suits his/her interest and ability.
Flexible Scheduling
To help address your learning needs and time schedules, Pioneer Technology Center offers flexible scheduling in some of the programs. This type of scheduling also allows you to control your own pace through the program. Providing you meet all program requirements, you can complete your program early. Ask a counselor which programs provide this type of scheduling.
