Ten students from Pioneer Technology Center’s (PTC) regional Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM) program attended the University of Oklahoma’s (OU) Engineering Day. The day was filled with written and participatory competitions relevant to engineering in the areas of physics and calculus.
All of PTC’s OSSM students sat for the calculus exam. The PTC OSSM team also participated in the Egg Drop, Mouse-Trap and Tower Building competitions. The following awards were given to PTC’s OSSM students at OU’s award ceremony: For the calculus exam, Greg Forton and Eaphy Mao were awarded second place and third place was awarded to Peter Jensen, Chad O’Connor, and Sara Allen. For the physics exam Eaphy Mao received first place, Chad O’Connor received second place, and Charleston Noble received third place. In the mouse-trap event, Braden Hail, Greg Forton, and Chad O’Connor were awarded third place. The Pioneer Tech group came home with a total of 11 awards.
